Evaluators & Clinicians

Gabrielle Gross, LCSW-C

Gabrielle Gross, LCSW-C is a psychotherapist specializing in work with children, teens and young adults in a range of settings from private practice to more acute settings such as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment programs and wilderness programs.

In addition, she has worked with children in classroom settings providing emotional and academic support. She has a strong background in treating ADHD as well as with many of the coexisting conditions that often accompany ADHD including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), anxiety and mood disorders, and eating disorders.

Ms. Gross works closely and collaboratively with parents of children and teens, using a family systems approach. Ms. Gross has a bright personality and an exceptional ability to engage those with which she works. She understands that coming to therapy can be a challenge and believes that it is important to work collaboratively with her clients and their family members in a way they feel most comfortable.

Ms. Gross has undergone training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and motivational interviewing (MI).

Ms. Gross has received multiple training and continuing education certificates in: Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children/adolescents, and eating disorder treatment.

During her undergraduate years she worked in an emotional support classroom for 3rd-5th grade students, engaging students in group therapy and in supporting their academic work. She also worked in an intensive partial hospitalization program for teens where she facilitated group, individual, and family therapy sessions using DBT-based treatments that focus on developing emotional regulation skills.

Education and Training

Ms. Gross graduated from Muhlenberg College Magnum Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in both psychology and dance.

Ms. Gross graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work where she earned her master’s degree. During her studies there she worked in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program where she facilitated therapy sessions and conducted risk assessments and higher level of care recommendations with adolescents. Ms. Gross has also received training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for OCD, and conducted individual and group therapy sessions at a private practice setting for individuals with OCD and anxiety related concerns.

During her education, Ms. Gross has conducted research examining the impact of parental involvement in a student’s education as well as the impact of Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) techniques on interpersonal connection and empathy.

Areas of Interest Include:

  • Using DBT to help her clients navigate overwhelming emotions and relationships that are so common among children and teens with ADHD.
  • Using CBT to work on understanding how changing the way we think can change the way we feel
  • Taking a family systems approach to help parents to create the best environment for a struggling child/teen
  • Group therapy for middle and high school students
  • Mood disorders, OCD, anxiety, and related disorders that often accompany ADHD
  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and emotion regulation disorders
  • PTSD, C-PTSD, and stress-related disorders – working with children, teens and their families to address emotional trauma and to create a calm and supportive atmosphere within the home.
